Broadwood grand #843

Good evening,

We are owners of a Broadwood grand with serial number 843. I know that the instrument was build in (about) 1795 and refurbished in (about) 1821 (one can state this from the fall board and from some technical details) - but I wonder for whom it might be built. Are there any ideas where to get this information from?

I would have thought it was nearer 1789? The UK Piano website has a section devoted to Broadwood, and you can have your piano researched in their archives, one of the very few firms that can still offer that service, but it will cost you. Not everything on the internet is free.

Why don't you ask Broadwoods themselves ? They are still around and have a website and for a fee will tell you the history of your piano and who it was originaly supplied to . Just google J.Broadwoods pianos.

That's exactly what I said. Broadwoods' website is a part of UK Piano.
