Crane & Sons ?
I have had a Crane & Sons upright overstrung for some ten years or so. One of the strings/cables requires replacement and i am wondering if i should have the work done or let it go and find a replacement. The problem is i know very little about the piano, such as the age, history and if it might be worth keeping. All i do know is that it is supposed to be from Liverpool and the registration number is 799853. Can anyone offer some advice/history?

You need to ask your local tuner if it is worth keeping, history won't tell you that. No dates of Crane serial numbers are available.
