Used Yamaha Upright Pianos

Post by 3d85 »

Hello everyone. First post here.

I'm here to ask for some information.

I have been learning piano for about 4-5 years now. And have been learning on a digital piano,
while being able to play on a Steinway at my lessons once a week.
I'm a now at a stage of learning where I'm feeling the limitations of my digital piano, and am thinking of getting an upright.

At the moment I'm looking at a Yamaha P2 that they have at my local piano shop.
It is 20 years old, and they are asking for £1200 for it. I wanted a U1 at first, but I'm not really sure I can stretch my budget to that amount.
Are the Yamaha P2's much different from the U1's?
Is 20 years old too old? Is £1200 the right amount of money for one?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

They are smaller that a U1 so the bass is not at good and the action key ratio is not as good all depends what state it is in the UK model now would be a Yamaha P114 which sells for £2,999.00 discounted RRP 3,999.00

The price seems OK but I would get a tuner to look at it
