hi everyone... can anyone tell me what is the right/appropriate space between the back of a piano and the wall? if the wall is pure cement finish, can it affect the piano sound...i mean not to produce a good sound? if so, what can i do to correct this problem? can i put a flexboard(made of fibercement,water/fire/termite proof) or a plywood on the wall? please help...

mr. david b.... just wandering why 3ft? maybe i'll just place my piano in the middle of the living room though it's an upright. grenache's piano is 15cm from the wall, and mine is same as grenache's.... is 15cm or 6in the minimum space required at least for the needed space of the piano to the wall? just can't imagine the 3feet lenght????

Most of the uprights I tune - including mine! - are about 6 inches from the wall. Which is about 15 cm in foreign.
