John Spencer - Age?
I have a John Spencer upright (Ser No. 59709) can you tell me the year of manufacture? Second question - I am about to move and need to get rid of it, I have advertised it for free in the local ad and had no response.
My only other option is to burn it and take the metal to the dump and I can only say that that would be criminal. Anyone got any ideas?

It should be 1913. If you don't think you'll get anything for it, try freecycle.org and someone will come and collect it.
