Erard Upright - London

Hi,

Are you have an idea of the year of the manufacture, of an Erard London Upright piano, the serial number of which is 18903, and the piano ia marked with "Patent Erard London".

Since the piano is an art case work, I can found some signatures of a French Painter (1817-1899), how it can be understood for the Piano manufactured in UK.

The number suggests that it was made around the time when Erards closed their London factory in 1890, but the good news is that the year should be marked on the left end of the action (mecanique). I would be interested to know what it says. There was a lot of traffic between Erards' London and Paris factories, and decorative work was often done in one place and sent to the other. Is there any chance you could email me some photos?

In addition, I was searching for two identical shades for the electric lamps of the piano. I am looking for highly ornamental shade, since the piano is very luxury with its art case the style of which is luxury Louis XV. But I could not find mating shades from here in France. The more worse thing is that the inner diameter of the shade holder of the lamp is slightly less than 5 Cm, but most of the all the antique or modern shades which are circulated in the market are too large to accommodate.

Do you have any information on the typical type of shade of the electrical lamp of the upright piano in 1890's. I am thinking about Vaseline glass shades for my piano if I can find mating size ones.
