No dates of Hardt's serial numbers are published, and it is difficult to say much at all when you don't show the whole piano, or any interior details that are useful. All these pictures tell us is that it was made after the 1873 exhibition. #7465 is dated 1908 on the keys, so yours is earlier, have a look at the Datemarks page at www.PianoGen.org

I have a Carl Hardt Piano that looks like yours!
I'm trying to restore it as it was given to me in a very bad shape. I took all the keys off and there was one with a pencil inscription that says: 15 December 1896!! I'm not sure if this is the construction date... can anyone help?
The serial number of mine is 4897.
