Beale Imperial Grand upright piano

Post by nellie81 »

Hi,

I have a Beale 'Imperial Grand' which is a beautiful upright concert grand. It looks like the piano half way down the page at http://www.nla.gov.au/pub/gateways/arch ... p16a01.htm, except without the additional wood carving sitting on the top of the piano (ie it's just a flat top). It was made in Sydney, Australia, and going by the link above, I'm assuming it was manufactured between 1902 and 1910. The serial number is 16283.

If anyone can provide any further information about the age/history/rarity of this piano, I would be most appreciative!!

Thanks

The top section would have been detachable, and is presumably just lost. I have very little information about Australian pianos, so the link to that website is very interesting.
