Bentley upright restoration or disposal?
I have inherited an Upright Bentley 1920 with an overstrung iron frame. It feels like a good piano but is worn and out of tune, is it worth trying to get it restored? I bet that it's blindingly expensive, so if it's not worth it, how on earth can i get rid of it. Does anybody know how much it costs to get someone to take a piano away (or recommend someone)? I keep imagining having to break it up in the lounge and take it to the dump piece by piece.
Thanks in advance.

Get a tuner in to look at it. Unless it's of great sentimental value, it probably won't be worth spending much on, but if you make sure the tuner is qualified and independent (ie, not from a shop who will push a new piano) you should get an honest opinion. If you don't want it, put it on the freecycle website, (www.freecycle.org) and I bet somebody will come and get it.
