Schiedmayer & Soehne

Post by cburrage »

I inherited a Schiedmayer & Soehme Stuttgart grand (or baby grand) piano. It has serial number 24582 on it. I do not know anything about pianos so I don't know whether it is a grand or baby grand, but it measures about 5' x 5'. Can you give me any information on it? I have had it in my home about 18 years (as a piece of furniture), and it is being wasted as no one plays it. I am thinking about selling it, but not for sure.

If it is five feet long, it would be classed as a baby grand in modern terms, although that is unlikely to have been its title when it was made. The number suggests about 1893.
