i have a piano made by the following chap :
George F Smith 129 & 131 Newington Butts London S.E.
and wish to know what age roughly it is... i.e. when the company opened / closed. I believe the company were still open in 1927 but I have no idea how this relates to my piano.

The address suggests something pre-1918. Our London lists suggest that he was only there somewhere between 1900 and 1913, so "circa 1907". In the twenties, G.F. Smith was in London & Aylesbury.
