It is a fact universally acknowledged that any school piano is really only there at all in order to double as a table, desk, mug collection point, board marker storage unit and loose-paper depot. Ingenious manufacturers make these instruments look exactly like the real thing, only more battered and neglected.

I hate to add to an acknowledged pedagogue such as yerself, but you forgot 'emergency ashtray in case of being discovered having a quick drag on a Woodbine in the music room'. How more skool pianos don't go up in smoke I shall never know...
