Hardman Peck minipiano

Post by sherlyncarles »

Our family has a Hardman and Peck co. minipiano. Not sure what year it is. Above the keys it says "As used by Princess Ingred of Sweden, Princess Elizabeth and Margaret Rose of York". What does this mean, and is worth $ ?

It's an Eavestaff. Princess Elizabeth is our Dear Old Queen these days, and Princess Margaret Rose of York was her late lamented sister, who in spite of her known excesses of alcohol, nicotine and the odd gardener on the side was by all accounts a fairly decent pianist.

Your piano is unremarkable here in the UK, but knowing the inexplicable affection that exists in the States for Spinet-type pianos, it may have a value that side of the pond.

This Thread provides a less-than-reverent guide to the various types that were available and which ones are worth anything at all.

Eavestaff

Yes, the message about the Princesses appeared on thousands on these. Hardman Peck made a version of tyhe Eavestaff Minipiano under license, but it was not the same, and I have no details about it. As for value, read the very first item at the top of the forum.
