Grosvenor

Does anyone know how old my piano with the name Grosvenor on the front can be? Or maybe something about the builder? The serial number (for what it's worth) is 17643 and it has a Schwander action. It's a small upright with a bright sound. I think it must be from the UK because there's a stamp on it from the Army and Navy (and a number: 2559). I don't think it's a historical instrument, but I would like to know something about the origin. Thanks!

There was a Grosvenor Piano Co. in 1915 at Grosvenor Piano Co. 4 Marlborough works, Marlborough road, Upper Holloway N. Grosvenor has also been used as a model name by some firms, but we have no evidence that this was a real maker. Have a look at the Piano Names link at pianogen.org

The Schwander action may have a number on the rear of it, and estimated dates of these are at the end of the Numbers page at pianogen.org
