Post by arale »

Hi all

Just wondering if anyone has heard of a piano brand "Nottingham"? Any advice?

Thanks!

The "Nottingham, London" piano produced by the Fuzhou Harmony Piano Co. Ltd., China, claims to have been made since 1851, but I have no record of the name at all as a London firm, it is not mentioned in any of my London lists from 1850 onwards.

Thanks so much for your info, Bill :) Similarly, I couldn't find 'Nottingham' on any list of piano brands previously.

Would you also happen to have played on one before?
Any idea how reliable this brand is, from the Chinese factory?

I have heard some people who liked the touch and the sound, hence was wondering where the parts might have been from.

Sorry, I am not involved with the current piano trade, my head is usually in the 19th century!
