John Spencer piano
Post by sarahbutler »
Hi, We've just received a lovely John Spencer piano via the Freecycle network, and wonder if you can tell us anything about it. It has a number, 27673, inside, and inlay on the front - though no sconces. Thank you very much.

The published dates of Spencer's serial numbers suggest 1897, and this is probably about right. No archives survive to trace individual pianos, see the Reports link at pianogen.org

That's wonderful, and very exciting - we didn't realise it would be so old. Now to get it tuned!
