Lobl, Berlin

Post by jamesc »

Hi

I'm a new member here and with a recently bought piano from a local auction which has the name O. Lobl, Berlin on the name plate above the keys. I think it's an O but it could be a D ? Anyway i have been trying to find out as much about this lovely piano as possible, can anyone help ? It has beautiful art nouveau inlay on the front and there is a a coat of arms under the top lid . i have taken pictures of these details but i'm not sure if i can post them here? I'd be happy to email them to anyone.

We have no record of the firm in Berlin, but Oscar Lobl was a maker of sewing machines and (apparently) pianos in London before the 1914 war. I'd be interested to see the phoptos if you want to email them to me, very little is known about him.
