Farrand piano
Post by phoebe03cat »
Hello,
We would be most grateful for any help you can offer.
We have an upright iron frame piano, we think probably mahogany.
It has the name Farrand on the outside. Inside the mechanism it says Herrburger Brooks Ltd. Inside the piano at the bottom near the pedals it says 357 on the frame. It also says inside made in Great Britain.
Over the keyboard inside there is a stamped H on the gold. Other than that we can't see any numbers anywhere.
My husband's theory is that these were made in the thousands for schools. Before we dismantle it, can anyone confirm this please.
*Found it: Number 1144 ender lid!

There a lots of Farrand pianos around, many of them player pianos, but I have no information about the name. The Herrburger Brooks action indicates that it was made after 1919. No dates of serial numbers are available, try looking at the Datemarks link at pianogen.org
