We purchased an old piano a few years ago, and just had it tuned - good news, it is in good condition! We just started lessons for our girls this week (2nd and 3rd grade) so we are hopefull that this will be in use for a long time in our family!
It is a Howard Vincent, s/n 53048. I'm curious as to the age and history of the company. We live just outside of Philadelphia.

These were apparently made by Steger, but the number you give does not correspond to published information, and we don't see them this side of the ocean, so I can't help you.
