Emile Auberon Piano

Post by skarlun »

We found an old Emile Auberon Piano with a label of E. Wheatland & Sons on it. We don't know much about pianos, but we would really like to restore it. Does anybody know how to find out if this is a good piano, and/or any tips about restoring?

Auberon seems to be an alias used by Wheatlands for pianos bought in from anonymous retailers. See the Aliases item at pianogen.org - the Datemarks item may help with identifying the maker, but most examples I've seen are average old things from around 1920. As to whether it is worth restoring, as your tuner.

Can you describe it? It doesn't have curved sides to the cabinet when viewed from the front does it?.... Like an old French clock?
