You've got another chance

Post by David B »

Fantastic purple and mirrored "concert" grand, that recently was sold at Piano Auctions for £300, is available now on eBay! 170037624545 (starting price £1650).

I say "concert" cause you be hard pressed to use it as such as there is hardly any sound comes out of the wretched thing. Its utterly vile. Mirrored key tops, purple sparkly frame and no lid. Any takers? :D

Have you heard it then? A Welmar 9-footer is a heavily Blüthner-influenced piano, and should sound superb even if it's been painted in such a vile manner. Actually, I'd rather have it than any of "raymanboy's" recent offerings!

I have played it. Or rather tried. It was difficult to hear over the sound of other pianos being played in the room (not a problem I had with the Yamahas, Petrof or Steinways). What you could hear was not nice. And the action was all over the place.

God only knows what has happened to this monster, no doubt if it went back to the factor to be rebuilt it might be a goer, so at 300 quid it might have worked. Mind you, the guide price was 1000-1500, the auctioneer started the bidding at 500, and had to drop to 100 before anyone would pipe up. There were 3 bids to take it to 300. So I don't think that it was just me

OMG! That is absolutely hideous.

Something that the Beckhams would buy as a piece of furniture. They wouldn't bother about the action...
