Thiebes Upright

Post by warpedma »

I have an upright (that I'm currently refinishing).

I'd like to identify age and any company info I can locate.

Below is ALL the information I have found inside.

On the harp frame:
Thiebes Piano Manufacturing, Rockford, IL

Also on the frame: 51346

There's a decal on the lid, but it just give the company name again. No more information. I can guarantee that there's no more info to be had, because I've just about disassembled it as far as I can for refinishing and some case repairs. I'm hoping to start re-assembly in a couple of days.

These were apparently made by Thiebes-Sterlin, or Thiebes-Stierlin, and the number suggests 1916, but we don't see them over here, so I can't help any further.
