Charles Cadby

Post by mariepotvin »

I own an antique piano whose mechanism was restored with original parts about 20 years ago. It is made of Rosewood and the keys are ivory.

The manifacturer is: Charles Cadby
Manufactory address: 38 & 39 liquorpond st., London
Patent 3569

The other information on the piano is this name: J. Steward

There is no date on the outside or inside that I can find.

I read a number of posting on your website. You mentioned that you were making an informational booklet but I cannot find it on the list.

I would love to have it appraised but I am not sure how to proceed and where to find a reputable appraiser. The piano is in Montreal, Canada.

The address suggests the 1850s but if (by "appraisal") you mean valuation, we can't do it from here, and I don't know anyone in Montreal. I can quote for printing a booklet, if you email at the link below. It would be interesting to have photos for our files, together with any numbers shown inside the top, but please don't post large photos on this forum.
