Should I buy this Piano - is it worth anything?

Post by cliffvt »

I have been offered a Piano with the following markings:

The Eavestaff MiniGrand Piano - serial number 439

Originally purchased from Boyd Pianos Tooting SW17

It is an UPRIGHT MiniGrand - extremely heavy - and just about all panels remove and seems to have a really good sound. Lovely dark brown colour - hardly any markings other than the Patent number for the frame, the serial number on the inside back panel and top front panel, and the make on the very left front side (almost hidden!)

I can't seem to find any information on this model - I have searched high and low on the internet but I cannot see this particular piano anywhere - it is unlike the other Mini pianos in that it is a full upright, quite tall actually. I have been offered it for Ł75 from an OAP centre - it was apparently left to them by a very dear old lady who passed away some years ago - should I buy it at that price?

Thanks so much!

IF it is from an OAP centre then it will have been baked and probably got loos pins, I would pay a tuner to go and look at it before you spend any money on it.

Would not mind some photos of it if possible for this page
