Camp & Co. History

Post by Linzkat »

I own a Camp & Company - New York piano, and am curious to know the age & value of it. It is in excellent shape. It has all the original pieces except three strings/hammers are broken. It has minimal scratches and sounds beautiful for how antique it looks. Your response is most appreciated.

Sincerely,

Linzee

You haven't given us any means of arriving at the date. Serial numbers are published for the period 1880-1925, but we don't see them over here, so have no opportunity to verify these dates. See

Camp & Company History

How ridiculous of me! I'm afraid I was overly anxious at having found this forum after several failed attempts for information of any kind. Any way, the serial number is 9494 - (Camp & Co. - New York).
Thank you,
Linzkat

The number suggests about 1884.

It's unlikely that the original archives exist, see
http://www.uk-piano.org/piano-gen/archives.html

and no-one can trace the life history of every piano after it leaves the factory. Any other clues will be inside the piano. See
