Coburg / Coberg

Post by Mallory »

Can anyone give me any info at all on an upright piano that we have had in the family since the 1920s? The name on the inside of the lid is Coburg (Coberg?).

I can find nothing at all on the web. We think it's an iron frame German piano, probably 1920s, maybe a little earlier.

I need to find out about it, as I would like to transport it from its current home in Leeds up to my home in Scotland and put it back into use again (hasn't been played since my grandmother died a little over 20 years ago). Need to get an idea if it's worth spending money on, or if we should just keep it for sentimental value.

Thanks for any help anyone can give!

We can't tell you if it is worth spending money on, you need a tuner on the spot to check it over. There's no value in the name, everything depends on condition.
