In family since 1902 now to go

Post by pianoian »

My grandmothers parents bought her a piano for her 8th birthday, it has been used in the family since then, now we are moving to a smaller house and my children show no interest in learning after getting fed up with keep playing my t rex songs on it !!

whats it worth ? i put it on ebay and only got bid up to 5 pounds, it still looks brillant although needs a bit of repair, ride a white swann still sounds ok !

Its very difficult to give a price for a piano without seeing it. Also the second-hand market has been give a big blow because of the internet and discounting of new pianos - to give you an example a 1920 Chappell in very good condition privately would have sold up north for about 700.00 and a dealer would have given you 150.00 but now the same piano you would have to pay a dealer to take it away

Ebay is not the best place to sell a piano BTW you can sell it on the UK Piano Page for Free or put a card in your local post office get in a tuner to tune it they will tell if the piano is worth selling
