What is a reasonable price from a dealer for this piano in good condition? The asking price is 2,500 inc delivey. Also, is it a particularly good piano?

Secondhand pianos are not that simple to price up with out seeing them. You may have 2 of the same make one at £2000 and one at 2500 the 2500 could be the better buy as it may have had a lots of work done on it and the other one may have been played to death so its not a mater of price its what the piano is like

2,500 inc delivery is a normal price for a U3 down south they can be a bit cheaper up north I have seen them go for £1900 with re-polished cases

I would get your local tuner to take a look before you buy

Barrie,

Many thanks for the info. The piano looks to be in good condition and is being sold by one of our local tuners (who also recons and sells).

Barrie,

One more query. How much would I get if I resell the UI piano after say 6years, assuming it is then still in good condition? a.private sale, b.to a dealer?

All depends I do know dealers who have given the price back if the buyer is returning to up grade but 2 years down the road privately £1500 tops a dealer may be £1500 if you are spending a lot but £900 tops if you are just selling

As to the other post what sort of Guarantee is the Tuner giving quite a lot of Delers are giving 5 years on secondhad Yamahas
