A friend of mine has a Bechstein upright, serial no.32597 which she wants to shift. It's had nothing done to it for at least twenty years but the case is in very good condition and a brief look at the action and a play-through didn't reveal any obvious problems. It's spectacularly out of tune so it was hard to judge the tonal quality.
Assuming for a moment that there are no major faults with this piano, is there any point in her contacting a restorer or dealer, or should she not bother and just stick an ad in the local paper?
Any advice would be gratefully received.
