Pianos in strange places!
Last week the remains of an old pedal organ were uncovered near the summit of Ben Nevis. Evidentally it should have been a piano but because of the weight the piano only made it about half way up. Both of these feats were carried out in the seventies carried on the back of a Scottish strong man raising money for charity.
Where is the strangest place you have seen a piano!

I've wound up joannas in:-
Kitchens
Cafes
Garages
Fields (school sports day!)
Tent (Circus)
Tent (marquee)
Narrowboat on a canal
Shed
Bedrooms
Toilet (school!)
Stately homes
Pubs
Restaurants (Indian, Chinese,French)
Chicken shed (with appreciative audience
of chickens)
Studios (TV, recording and artist's...)
Garage (as in mechanics)
By a swimming pool. (Robert Maxwell - scary!)
Churches
Cellar
And the chances are, most tuners can tell you all sorts of weird stories about weird places into which people manage to stuff pianos....oo, matron!

Ho yes...complete with chicken singalong...they got bored, eventually and wandered out. Apart from a broody one who stayed put but had a wonderful line in glares.

Actually, it was happier in the chicken shed than it would have been in the double-glazed, centrally heated and EXCEEDINGLY overheated ex-farmhouse; now occupied by yuppies pretending to be 'country' when actually the country was too dirty, smelly and cold. Chickens were as involved as they wanted to get...even they were looked after by the gardener. Gardener, I ask you...there may be only 40 miles between here and London, but they were completely out of their depth. As far as I know, they bogged off back to Hampstead. Shame...

The chickens wouldn't have missed 'em, but Hampstead is presumably used to that sort of thing. And pianos are remarkably good-tempered beasties on the whole!
