I can't remember any Eavestaff of later years being labelled 'and sons' so you've probably a piano from the '30s or newer.

What does the piano look like?

Eavestaff

Post by Bill Kibby »

Around 1889, the firm became "& Sons", and by 1914, they were Eavestaff & Sons Ltd., but some pianos just say "Eavestaff". A growing number of websites offer apparently simple dating of pianos by numbers. These dates are usually based on books, which in turn quote from other books which are sometimes wrong or misleading. If you give me the number, I may suggest a different date. If you have logged in, you can press my email button, or click on my email address below.
