Broadwood numbers

Hello, I am trying to find out the age of my Broadwood Grand Piano, and why and where it was manufactured. Its serial number is 45574. I looked it up on the lists available online. The serial numbers 45390 are from 1897; the serial numbers 45820 are from 1899.

Therefore, my grand piano must have been made around 1898. However, the serial number of my piano does not seem to exist, although the piano exists, standing solidly in my living room. The previous owner told me that it might have been one of a special series made for the British royal family. I like that story, but actually I would like to know the real story behind my piano. It is a real Broadwood, and it certainly looks the same as other Broadwood grand piano's from that period. Thank you very much for helping me.

You seem to have some misunderstanding of the way the lists work: They only give you the first number for the year, or sometimes 5 years.
1895 #44,100
1900 #46,250
45574 is after the beginning of 1895, and before the beginning of 1900. It is around 1898, but what do you mean when you say it doesn't exist? They don't list every number. For more accurate details, you would have to pay Broadwoods for a report.

Well, the man who tunes my piano looked the number up in a book full of specific serial numbers, and it isn't there. But perhaps I'd better ask the Broadwood people themselves.
