How would we go about looking up the patten number to see when it was registered and by who?

We have an upright player piano and we don't know anything about it. On the outside wood, there is the seal J. Bauer & Co. Chicago. On the inside where the machinary is there the seal C. Bauer & Sons New York. The U.S. pat is 1055323. There are two cerial numbers: 139599 and 109863. There ar...
