You are right. Placing the hand on the lower strings solves the problem. Thank you very much.

i got a used steinway model Z made in 1961.it is in very good condition. however it does have a problem: some notes, 3 to be precise, keep sounding for some tme after they have been played. i called a tuner and he says the dampers are ok and that the problem is due to echo from to the soundboard. do...
