Re: Zeitter & Winkelmann - and Winkelmann

I would be very interested to see photos of any Z&W pianos that people own, including inside the pianos. I am compiling a record of the various styles and branding used at different periods of time - please send me pics if you have them

Zeitter & Winkelmann - and Winkelmann

Hi there. I am currently researching the Zeitter & Winkelmann piano makers who also used the Winkelmann name on its own sometimes. My interest is because my mother's family founded and owned the company for several generations, so I want to be able to tell the story to my children. I also want t...

Re: price estimate for Zeitter Winkelmann 11911

Do you still have this piano? Serial number 11911 is from 1899.

I am doing some research on the Zeitter & Winkelmann company because I am related to the original owners - could you send some photos of the piano - it sounds wonderful?

Re: sell ZEITTER & WINKELMANN

Hi Juan - have you managed to sell it? The numbers that you listed were gold and silver medals that their pianos won. The list of medals started being molded into the frame from about 1899 on some pianos but not all. By the early 1900s this had become standard until the early 1930s, when they starte...

80466 would be some time in the late 1980s or early 1990s. Do you have any photos?

Re: NEW HAMMERS, ETC. AS TO SOUND

Do you still have this piano? I am currently researching Z&W pianos because I am descended from the family that owned the company and want to be able to tell my kids about it. Do you have any photos of your piano and serial number?

Re: Zeitter& Winkelmann

Serial number 1752 would be from around 1868 to 1869. That would be an early instrument for Zeitter & Winkelmann. The company formed in 1837 as only Winkelmann, and Zeitter was added in 1851. I am currently researching the company because I am descended from the old Winkelmann owners and want to...

Re: Help an old piano

Was the piano salvageable or did you need to dispose of it. I am doing some research on Z&W pianos and was wondering if you have any photos of the piano and any serial number. The reference to Kizingen means it was made after 1963 because Z&W licensed manufacturing to a firm in Kiztingen the...

Re: Winkelmann Braunschweig Upright Piano 1936

I presume that this is now sold. The serial number for 15492 was from 1904. The logo used on the keyboard lid was only used from about 1903-1904. The company experimented with their branding at that time and used both Winkelmann and Zeitter & Winkelmann names on their instruments. They also intr...

Re: Zeitter and Winkelmann Braunschweig (Brunswick)

It has been a long time since anybody replied to this. Do you still have the piano? My grandfather was the last family owner of the Zeitter & Winkelmann piano company. I have been researching their old company so that I can tell the kids about it. What I understand is that the company had quite ...
