Is that course only available in the UK? Didn’t know if that was something in the Piano World that is universally
known among piano technicians and tuners. Would a technician that is accredited by the Piano Guild have that knowledge and be able to do that sort of modification? Thanks

Re: Piano Action Regulation
I wonder how many piano technicians have experience with this. It seems very complicated. Also I wouldn’t know how you go about determining how much weight to add. If I remember correctly pianos have a different amount of resistance in the bass register than in other registers I think . I also wonde...

Re: Piano Action Regulation
I wonder how you decide how much weight to add to the hammer shanks . My piano is a 6 ft 4inch grand. And of course everyone’s idea of how the action should respond would be different since everyone would want varying degrees of a lighter or heavier responding action. I also wonder if concert grands...

Re: Piano Action RegulationAnd Touch
My Piano plays noticeably better since the action regulation. I would like to possibly make the touch not as light. I was weary of making things worse if it really wouldn’t change things enough to benefit from a modification and wasn’t knowledgeable about the pros and cons . Was wondering if anyone ...

Re: Piano Action Regulation And Touch
What is the best way to make your pianos keyboard action so it plays with more resistance ? Making it so it doesn’t have as light of an action. I saw some videos where weights are installed to make the Piano play different. Maybe resistance isn’t the right word. Was wondering if this was practical o...

Re: YAMAHA CP300 & Avantgrand
I’m not sure which model replaced the CP 300. I originally was going to get a real Rhodes suitcase Electric piano. The Rhodes suitcase had four twelve inch speakers speakers. It also had stereo tremolo. I decided against it . Rhodes are electro mechanical and need maintenance and being that thier vi...

Re: YAMAHA CP300 & Avantgrand
I’ve had the Yamaha CP300 for a while. I t sounds best when using a soft pedal when choosing a piano preset. It has midi And onboard speakers and you can run the stereo audio outputs into an external amplifier or PA. It has sliders for EQ. It also has quarter inch inputs as well for a sostenato and ...

Re: Piano Action Regulation
I had my piano action regulation done. I also made active my humidifier and dehumidifier. Was wondering what is involved in voicing the piano. I read they use needles and steam on the felts. Was wondering what others that have had a voicing done think of how thier piano sounds after the piano voicin...

Re: Piano Action Regulation
That seems to make sense my tech/tuner is coming next week. I wish I knew how to tune my piano, I don’t like out of tune pianos and it is costly to tune.

Re: Piano Action Regulatio
I see, it is very technical. I just wish I knew whether it would be worth it to get a grand action Reconditioning. I wonder if spending a $1000 dollars would be in vain. Rebuild is out of the question as is a completely new piano or even buying a used piano. I used to sale pianos and back then the p...

Re: Piano Action Regulation
I see that is very expensive. Makes an action restoration seem affordable . I’m waiting to see how the piano plays after the action regulation. The price of a action rebuild you quoted is half the price of what the august forester cost when I purchased it new many years ago. My tuner told me that my...

Re: Piano Action Regulation
An action restoration costs $1000 dollars. I’m getting the action regulation done for $300 dollars. My tuner/technician said my piano was an 8 or 9 if he rated it. I just want to try to get my piano to play like when it was new. Was wondering in your experience if an action restoration restores the ...

Re: Piano Action Regulation
I read about a grand piano action restoration. How much might that cost? My pianotuner/tech offers that as well. What are the pros and cons of that? And when would that be needed ? Thanks . My piano hasn’t had heavy use. It is 42 years old though. Was wondering if such a service would restore the pi...

Re: Piano Action Regulation
I played a Boston grand once. Thier very nice pianos. Aren’t they made by Steinway? I watched a utube video on tuning, action regulation and voicing. It’s so involved. The action that was shown was a renner action. Is that action used frequently in European pianos? I thought I read somewhere that re...

Re: Piano Action Regulation
That sounds quite involved, are you a piano technician or tuner? You seem to know a lot about it. What would you estimate that would cost understanding that certain aspects of the action regulation may or may not come into play just a educated guess my grand is a 6ft 4 inch if that Information would...

Re: Piano Action Regulation
Thanks for the reply. I know of a few that do action regulation. My tuner included. My august forester is 42 years old . I’ve never had any problems with the action until now. The temperament seems very good and stays in tune well. I have a hudifier I guess that’s what it’s called. Although it’s not...

Piano Action Regulation
I have an August forester model 190. It’s been tuned about 6 months ago. It still holds its tuning well. My issue is the keyboard keybed. I have keys that don’t return once depressed. Not sure what is causing this, Was wondering if anyone has had this problem and how To fix this problem. Would a act...

YAMAHA CP300 & Avantgrand
I use a Yamaha cp300 stage piano. The best digtal hybrid I have ever played was a Yamaha avant- grand. They have different models and price points. There expensive as some used grand -pianos. I have an august forester model 190 it’s 6 foot 4 inch. It’s from the DDR East Germany. It was made in 1980 ...
