scoring piano pieces?

Hello, I've got a whole load of pieces that I need to score but I don't really know where to start!!! I have a terrible feeling it's going to take hours and hours :-( All the pieces are MIDI files, and they are in one-track format (left and right hands are on the same track). This means I need a sco...

Part of the problem is that you are not familiar enough with the bass clef. This will always slow you down because you really need to be able to read the notes without counting evertime. The best way to improve would be to practice only using the left hand, and reading simple bass lines. If you need...

Re: teaching quavers

Hello Vicky,
Have you tried leaving the piano and just clapping rhythms?

The hardest thing is learning to play triplets in one hand and quavers in the other

let us know how you get on

hi Matty, I agree with Gill. Keyboards and Piano are different. I used to play keyboards, and I have met a lot of other players that actually can't sightread! They improvise pretty much everything they play. I'm a bit like that but I am starting to improve with piano. It's not possible to tell you w...

Contempory Piano Music

hello,
I really love love playing contempory/minimalist piano music like Yann Tierson, Philip Glass, Ludovico Einaudi, Leszek Mozdzer, Micheal Nyman etc...

Can anyone recommend any contempory piano composers I could play and listen to? What are your favourite modern-day composers?

Thanks very much!

hi there, You best bet is probably to find a music shop with a good range of pianos and try a few of them out. You will probably find some good pianos in the £800+ mark. I've seen a few new pianos for about £400-500 you will find the pianos a bit of a compromise between price and...

Producing sheet music

Hello... I wonder if anyone can help... I have a large number of piano compositions that I need to produce sheet music for... and it needs to look quite good. I have Sibelius 3- which I understand is one of the more popular programs- but I can't work out how to import from a MIDI file onto 2 staves ...

hi, If you a beginner and are just looking for a piano to practice on then I'm sure the PR300 would be adequate for this purpose. I think that model is a few years old now, but Technics are one of the well known makes (but not the most popular) I have used their Keyboards and they are easy to use an...

Piano Tuning

I like pianos very much and I am thinking about going on a basic tuning/maintainence course.
Can anyone recommend a training provider?

I am based in Worcestershire but I am happy to travel if need be.

Sorry if this has been asked before.

Thanks very much
:D
