Thank you for that. I appreciiate your knowledge on this subject but I am confused as to why the piano has the particular number stamped on it for a particular year, if it was indeed manufactured after 1885. Would it be possible that it was practice for such awards and medals to be added later, for ...

John Brinsmead & Sons upright iron grand

Hello. We have the above piano with walnut venere,which is stamped 31677 underneath the lid when opened. Can any one please date the piano?
