Re: differencial tone annoying ( 3ds)
Sorry you did not get it. Those are combination tones too present Easy to experiment with one of the double tone generators available on the net For instance on that one : http://digilander.libero.it/i2phd/tcube/tcube.html (with spectra graph) or http://www.dxzone.com/cgi-bin/dir/jump2.cgi?ID=3829 j...

Re: New Feurich 122 upright vs @1973 Grotrian Steinweg uprig
I would not buy a small 1970 piano. It need new strings and new tuning pins, and new hammers, at last, and dealers never will invest as much time and materials in such a small piano. Small actions are also more difficult to deal with, the crossing of strings is exacerbated, creating uneven wear and ...

Re: Papps wedges
they are very useful, I lost mine a few weeks ago and I am obliged to mute only one external string, which is also feasible to tune ( directly a doublet in treble) but I will buy a new one soon.

Re: differencial tone annoying (min 3ds)
What I notice is that a 5th have the lower tone stronger due to a differential tone that happens one octave below, but I was never really attentive to other combinations. AT the organ those tones are clearly audible, listen to the samples here if you wish : http://organ-au-logis.pagesperso-orange.fr...

Hello, A customer of mine, acoustician an accordion player, was called to check a room where someone have a kawai baby grand, that is generating "differential tones" audibly, and all along a series of min 3ds in the 5th 6th octaves. I could not witness the effect myself but she could measu...

Re: Wooden framed second hand pianos
What is wrong in that illustration above?
I see nothing resembling a common iron plate with pin bushings.
I never seen pins pounded in iron.

Re: ERARD piano saved from the landfill
Hello, it looks like the mod 9 7 octaves,1.14 m without original legs . if smaller 1.04 could be a late model n°7 Got that from pictures of catalogs in the book "La maison Erard" from René Beaupain Impressive ivories as they used at those times. The keys have been bleached an polished, may...
