Re: which castors for bechstein grand VA
http://www.fletcher-newman.co.uk/catalogue/castors/g726a.html I thought I had pasted this before but it appears to have worked properly now! I think I will get these ones. I had considered the square cup ones but the legs would have to be cut down to fit. There are no holes at all in the legs and I ...

Re: which castors for bechstein grand VA
Hi again Colin I have tried to post pics from my phone but it didn't work - I will try again from laptop The piano is on a shoe. Legs and other removable parts are off. The legs have no holes drilled in the bottom at all. It was previously on an a-frame - do people chop off castors to do this? I qui...

Re: Bechstein model VA
Thanks for your reply Colin I found this info about earlier bechstein models being named I to V in Roman numerals up to 1902 so this means my piano is definitely before then. http://www.courtneypianos.co.uk/bechstein.html There's a company called besbrode pianos that have one for sale at the mo so I...

Re: Bechstein model VA
Thank you for your reply. I will get pics up as soon as I work out how to do it! Serial number is 57027 - black numbers on iron frame - although these numbers look very similar to what that article refers to as case numbers. I followed your link above. I. More confused now! Case number is 18081 - nu...

Bechstein model VA
Hello
I would like any info on this model of Bechstein as I haven't found much at all. The serial number dates it to 1900-1902, exact year unknown because I also looked at the case number which told me 1902 but serial number 1900!
Anyone know about the VA models?
Thanks

which castors for bechstein grand VA
Hi everyone I need to put new castors on a bechstein grand model VA. I have narrowed it down to these two: http://www.fletcher-newman.co.uk/frameset.html http://www.fletcher-newman.co.uk/frameset.html Which ones do you think would be most appropriate? The piano will sit on castor cups and will not n...
