Re: if the price are the same, kawaii or yamaha is better?

My preferred piano purchase nearly 4 years ago was a Kawai RX-2 on account of the piano's beautiful mellow tone. Much has been written/said about the comparable tones of Kawai and Yamaha but it is untrue to say that one is superior to the other. What is true to say is that they have different tones ...

Re: Scarlatti

Hello everyone: Does anybody know if there is a vaguely affordable edition of the complete Scarlatti sonatas? I have the Schirmer Kirkpatrick 60 sonatas, as well as the Dover 4 volumes, but I still miss some. Alternatively, are there other good selections recommended. Thanks Bart Scarlatti composed...

Re: Hyundai Vs Knight

I don't think I can help you in your choice for I can only choose between one piano and another by PLAYING the pianos and experiencing the feel/touch, the sound/tone, and the response of action and pedals. Commenting otherwise, I can only say that of the three pianos I am fortunate to own, if I coul...

Re: Knight upright - urgent advice needed

I never allow anything to be placed on my pianos.
A piano is a musical instrument (and for playing, not an ornament)and not a piece of furniture for displaying vases/flowers, photographs, china, glassware or anything else!

Re: Erard Piano Restorers

Thank you very much for your reply which gives much useful information and advice. I do live in the U.K. and I am aware of a number of antique piano restorers who specialise in Steinways, Bechsteins, Bosendorfers and Bluthners, but I know of none who claims to have restored an Erard. I would like to...

Erard Piano Restorers

I own a 1903 Erard Grand Piano and would like some restoration work done on it.
Can anyone suggest a restorer who has experience and expertise in such work on Erards?
I should be grateful for any useful information.
