Re: Billy Joel & Elton John....
Well, people occasionally saying that I have fingers of a musician had some impact on me, and I probably start seeing myself as one :D They didn't say exactly - fingers of what musician, though, so I started with electroguitar before switching to keyboards few years later... To be honest, I don't ev...

Re: KORG microPIANO - 5 kg Grand Piano
Yeah, I'm too confused with the sound. It's not what I was expecting: it sounds like a toy piano and certainly marketologists never heard a bold, smooth grand piano sound they're talking about. As for their stage pianos, KORG SV-1 sounds completely OK for me - if I had a chance to find one somewhere...

Re: I may be getting better...comments welcomed
I play ostinatos all the time. Saying "all the time" I really mean it - that's my favorite technique. I think the essential part of it is a precise timing. You gotta join with your right hand in the right time, and then you start gaining momentum. Besides, you need all your concentration; ...

Re: The best time to learn piano
You must have started young to say that! Reading music is hard for us adult beginners! I have pretty much stopped trying and just improvise instead! As for me, it's easier when you listen to a piece you want to play a dozen of times. Then intervals you should play will come naturally and you won't ...

If everyone would write poems about people who they worked with, the world would be a better place! It's really funny, I enjoyed reading this

Re: Looking to improve technique and skills.
Maybe I will post a video for people to comment on?[/img] I think it's a good idea. You wrote that: Although i can play some averagely complex pieces I do suspect that a well taught player would make several criticisms of my playing and I wan't to correct that. ...and the only way to get to know is...

Re: Loss of confidence
I have also been thinking about returning to piano lessons, possibly it may have been that I was set too many 'targets' by my former teacher that made the enjoyment factor of playing disappear. I know everyone says 'you must get a teacher if you want to learn to play properly' but is it really wort...

Re: Students with skipworthy pianos...
I don't know, it's not so easy to convince anybody to do something unless they feel like doing it. So, to my view, you got to introduce your students to an instrument which you especially like yourself. I mean, if you know that there's something special in the sound of a specific piano, well, then e...
