Thanks for your comment - the tuning guy suggested to restring. To my hear, bass and trebles are still ok while the sound of the middle section is quite "wobbly" - maybe a partial restringing will do? But I'll first check the transport cost with a mover. Thanks a lot.

Yamaha M1J - worth restringing + moving?
I own a Yamaha M1J upright since 1980. It used to sound very well, it has not been used for 20 years and the mechanical condition should be excellent.
