The piano has been identified as having the serial number 2427 so may have been made in around 1934... so..... perhaps after all replace the middle C string and have it tuned. Not sure if such an old piano is that rare. Does anyone have any ideas ?

The tuning pins are under the keyboard.

The alternative is to buy something like a secondhand Bentley 6 octave small piano which I believe to be an 'acceptable' instrument, for less than the cost of a string and tuning the Eavestaff.
