Don't try and tune your own piano. You'll just be wasting your time, or damage it.

Not entirely sure what qualifications she's got, but I know she's gone to grade 8, and that diploma degree thing (sorry, don't know what it's called!) afterwards.

I think she's godd, and she's knows what she's talking about, so that's what counts.

Nobody likes exams! You just have to get on with it, it's all over in 10 minutes.

The last exam I took was grade 3 several years ago, before I stopped bothering with them. I think i got 141/150. I was chuffed!

Rates for piano lessons?

I'm paying £12 per half hour, which I've heard is the average rate. How much do you think is a reasonable rate?

Could you stretch that £300 up to £1600?

Because then you could het Joules Holland's piano. It's small, sounds great, and it's a Yamaha.

How much does it cost to get a piano tuned?

I've always paid about £40. Am I paying too much, or does that seem about right? Cheers

Just go and work in a piano dealers for a few weeks like I did. You'll learn way more being told stuff first hand than reading it in a book, trust me.

I agree with A440. A friend of mine has one of these Sauter pianos, and it sounds absoloutly fantastic!

As with many though, I suppose price is the deciding factor.

Like I said in the blog, I just don't like most modern ones. They just don't have as good a sound or feel as as older ones, and I prefer ivory keys too.

Do you prefer older or more modern pianos?

Hi, I'm a new member! I've just been thinking about this myself, after a friend bought it up. I personally prefer older pianos. Call me lazy, but I can't be bothered to type out why, as I've just done a great big article about it in my blog! Take a look if you like! www.markinnottingham.blogspot.com...
