I've found using baby wipes to clean modern keytops ok. But older keytops, which I thought were plastic, lose there shine. Any ideas how to get the shine back?

replacing damper felts

hello , this is my first post so i hope i do it right.
can anyone explain why (upright) treble damper felts are in two halves and can they be replaced with one continuous felt?
