Re: Which music examinations board do you use?
I have used all of these boards for various students and would agree with what has been said above. My experience of Rockschool exams so far has been that they have been well organised and the central staff are helpful. Venues have been varied - once we were in a music shop - fab for all the waiting...

Twangy note
One of the notes on my piano has developed a nasty twanging noise. I hear it when I release the damper pedal or as I let the key back up - only when I do this slowly. It happens just before the felt of the damper makes full contact with the strings. What could be causing this? Is there anything I ca...

They all enjoyed the experience and came away with a useful sheet with remarks - that I have referred to since - all very po...

Hi Dave, Some excellent suggestions above - I can't really add anything new. It depends a bit on where you live, but you might be pleasantly surprised by how (relatively) cheap lessons can be. A lot of teachers are happy to take an adult who for whatever reason is unable to come every week. In my pa...

I think it is probably time for you to find yourself a teacher... It is occasionally possible to find videos of this sort of piece on YouTube, but the quality is dubious and the timings could well be wrong. Can you describe the rhythms in a bit more detail? Difficult to help without the book to refe...
