understood Gill thanks for the advice. I have looked at the set up the dampers are in line they just dont quite bounce back enough to blanlk the strings. I am pretty sure that the prob is the damper springs, & in replacing them I won't damage the instrument & will learn some thing more about...

Many thanks for that advice Gill. All the dampers are there and so I will set about replacing the damper springs Edmund :D

Dampers Uprights Steinbach Berlin

This old piano is fine except that some dampers no longer dampen their srings. Can one adjust the damper's action or does one need to replace the worn felt faces on them?
