Thanks Gill, have just checked and noticed your humerous reply! Will not start start attacking the poor piano until tomorrow , but we will have a good attempt to boldly go(excuse the split infinitive) where I am sure no one has gone for a very long time!!

B Squire and Sons Piano
Thanks to you both, Gill and Bill. Have looked in the suggested places for the serial number to no avail I'm afraid. Did not look under the extreme left hand key as you suggested Gill, as we don't know how to do this without damaging it! Will look again at the weekend in the hope of finding this elu...

B. Squire & Son piano
Hello to you all. A new member here. please could you help with researching a piano that we have just inherited. It bears the name B Squire on the lid , but on the frame inside has the name B Squire and Son. It also seems to have another name carved into one of the wooden areas , that of a W Leslie....
