Well, I suppose there is nothing wrong with your intention of tuning the piano on your own. But before you do that be thoroughly sure that you have learned the proper way or skills in doing it, with the proper tools. If not, you would risk screwing up the piano just like what you have done to the pi...

Thanks for the link. Unfortunately, potential buyers cannot get to see the cover of the book and also the list of songs featured in the book which I deem to be imperative for an imminent purchase. I do not know if the composer is really Yukie Nishimura as the link shows two Nishimura's, "Nishim...

How to play with two hands? Well just play with two hands! Just kidding. Anyway I guess there is no short-cut and all you need is practice, practice and practice. If difficult at the beginning, do it slow. With more practice I reckon you would be doing good. Others may have better opinion or advice ...

By the way, do you happen to have any previous experience with a Kawai upright before? I currently own the Kawai US-50 which was supposed to be Kawai's top three uprights in their time. I've posted a thread some time back but got very poor response on that one. I felt the touch was heavy on the Kawa...

Openwood, THanks for your reply!! THis is the first time I've got a positive response and whatmore a previous owner of the Yamaha G3 and now C3. Nevertheless, the answer was not what I had expected since I was considering to buy the used G3, and the price is quite cheap. The C3 is waaay too expensiv...

Who are your favourite composers?

And whose works do you enjoy playing the most? My favourite contemporary music composer is David Benoit and I love to play his works most of the time. I can spend up to two straight hours on weekends playing his music. I used to play Richard Clayderman's but not as often these days after I discovere...

Opinions on Yamaha G3 Grand 6'

Any folks here who own this thing? Or anyone who have played on this particular model? How does the Yamaha G3 compare to the new C-series?

Any advice would be most appreciated.

Recommendation On Contemporary Jazz? Any David Benoit fans?

Any David Benoit fans here? I have two of his books, Anthopology and Professional Dreamer. I absolutely love his pieces especially "Kei's Song" and a few others. Any other recommendations on music of similiar styles? I also love piano pieces by one Japanese pianist, Yukie Nishimura. I have...

I am not aware that the touch of a piano can be regulated. Does that mean the touch of any pianos can be regulated to be lighter? Or this only apply to grand pianos? The touch of my Kawai US-50 upright is real heavy compared to other better pianos out there and since I'm considering a used Yamaha G2...

Please Help :Upgrading From Kawai US-50 Upright To Yamaha G2

Hi, My first post here. I own the Kawai US-50 upright for several years now but recently felt that the touch was a tad heavy. Someone suggested a Yamaha G2 grand piano commenting that the touch was much lighter and the tone would be way better than the Kawai. How true is this statement? Is the Yamah...
